Hailing from Liverpool, England -David Gough
has been working as a professional artist since
the mid 1990's.
Following a move to the US in 2005 he began a series entitled The Theothanatos Series, which would deal with broad questions of religious
dogma and human origin.

However, as the series developed, he began to confront more existential questions of his own mortality, bringing to the forefront memories of personal loss, and an obsession with both the human skull and the number three.

Recently his work has began to explore life as a processes of trial and decay through deconstructed figurative forms and symbolic imagery, in a new series entitled Purgatorium.

His work has been exhibited both in the UK, as well as being a regular addition to shows on both the West and East coasts of the US. In 2010 he exhibited in fifteen shows and was featured in five of them, as well as being awarded honoree artist for that year at the San Diego Art Institute.

In 2011, his work was hosted at the Oceanside Museum of Art as part of the Momento Mori showcase.

More recently he released his first book, comprising a compilation of recent works, anecdotes and annotations entitled D3ad/Ends.
